Tour overview
This gorilla safari takes you to Kahuzi Biega National Park to track the endangered Eastern lowland gorillas. Also known as the Grauer's Gorilla, these gorillas differ from the mountain gorillas, with the mountain gorillas being less physically built because of the nature of their mountainous habitats.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali
Upon your arrival at Kigali airport, you will also be welcomed by our guide who will transfer you to your hotel, you will get a briefing in Kigali.
Day 2: Bukavu, Congo
Have breakfast and then transfer to Bukavu in DRC via border at Cyagungu. Along the way, we will have a short stop in Butare, visit the Rwandan National museum and be entertained by Rwanda traditional dancers called the intore. Have lunch and then proceed to Bukavu and the journey is also a combination of wonderful views of the beautiful hills, through the tropical forest of Nyungwe national park, which opens up to give you a clear view of lake kivu over the large area of park swamplands.
Day 3: Trekking of the Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega
So early in the morning after enjoying breakfast, you will take 1 and half hour drive to Kahuzi Biega National park to have a briefing about the dos and the don’ts of trekking the eastern Lowland gorillas in the jungle and after enter into the forest to search for the primates and this activity can also last for 2 to 6 hours depending on their movements once you find them, you will be given 1 hour with them to allow you take photos and the videos. After tracking, you will return to the hotel for an overnight and dinner. Late in the afternoon you return to your hotel in Bukavu.
Day 4: from Bukavu to Kigali
Have breakfast and we return back across the border into Rwanda and then travel on to Kigali.
Day 5: Depart to Kigali
You will have shopping in Kigali then transfer at the airport for departure flight.
