A Safari to Tanzania, is not complete without a visit to view the wildlife in the famous national parks of Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Lake Manyara.

Detailed Trip Itinerary: 7 Days/ 6 Nights

Day 1

The drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park takes between 3 and 4 hours drive. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, take on an afternoon wildlife safari game drive which will give you the opportunity of viewing a number of wildlife including birds.  Approaching the park from the east – Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the under ground ground water forest, baboons, monkeys leap from branch to branch while on the escarpment are elephants often seen standing in the shade. Other wildlife to look out for include Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, giraffes among many others. Overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a wildlife game safari inside the crater. This is a deep, volcanic crater – presumably the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. It is the best place to see the black rhino in Tanzania as well as the magnificent black manned male lions. The birdlife is impressive and in particular the flamingoes. other wildlife in the park to look out for include cheetah, leopard, hyena, other members of the antelope family together with small mammals. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Safari Lodge.

Day 3

After breafast, set off for Tarangire National Park. This park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, elephants, zebras, elands and Oryx are a common sight in Tarangire until the onset of the rain when they migrate to good grazing areas. Later after lunch transfer back to Arusha for over night stay at Kibo Palace Hotel.

Day 4

Early breakfast then drive to Serengeti National Park for a full day wildlife tour. Serengeti is a vast nature reserve best known for its annual wildebeest migration, with elephants, rhino and lions. It also has an amazing landscape that resulted from the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. Overnight stay.

Day 5

After breakfast, take on another wildlife game safari in Serengeti’s wilderness. This full day wildlife safari with a picnic lunch will give you an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife. There are options of driving to IKOMA from where you could take on a nature walking safari along Grumeti River. Dinner, and overnight.

Day 6

After breakfast, take on yet another game drive through Serengeti National Park – reknown for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white bearded wildebeest, zebra, honey badger and Nile crocodile. Have a sun-downer dinner and overnight stay

Day 7

After breakfast, morning wildlife safari as you drive out of Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through Ngorongoro area via Olduvai Gorge, to Kibo Palace Hotel Arusha.
