The Government of Uganda reduced visa fees from US$100 to US$50 with effect from 22nd July 2016. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also went ahead and issued statutory instrument No.13 of 2016 to effect the change. The move is aimed at promoting Uganda’s Tourism sector as government also implements the newly introduced e-visa where every visitor/ tourist will be required to apply, have their visas approved with notifications sent to them and visas issued at the respective borders and embassies.
It is important to note that the visa reduction applies only for the single entry (tourist) visa. The other visa categories remain un changed.
